Nautika, a prominent high-speed ferry service in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is preparing to launch the Nautika Prride (also spelled Nautika Pride), its fastest and most advanced catamaran to date. This new vessel is anticipated to significantly enhance Nautika’s fleet, facilitating inter-island travel and boosting maritime tourism in the region.

The Nautika Prride, which boasts a capacity of 400 passengers, is touted as the largest and most luxurious ferry in the archipelago. Built entirely in India, it can reach speeds of up to 24 knots and is designed for stability in open waters. The vessel has received certification from the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), adhering to international maritime safety standards, including evacuation protocols and fire safety measures.

Ferry services in the region typically connect three main destinations: Sri Vijaya Puram (formerly Port Blair), Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), and Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island). Operators also offer direct trips to either island from Sri Vijaya Puram. The Nautika Prride aims to enhance the travel experience, featuring spacious seating across four classes—Luxury, Royal, VIP, and Business—along with onboard dining, cafés, and viewing decks.

Anoop Kumar, Director of Nautika, emphasized that the Nautika Prride represents the future of maritime travel in India, offering a faster, safer, and more comfortable experience, thereby setting a new standard for passenger journeys in the Andaman Islands.
