Dubai Maritime City (DMC), a key project by DP World, has officially opened its new Maritime Business Centre 2 (MBC-2), a Dhs160 million commercial tower aimed at enhancing the Grade A office space within Dubai’s maritime and trade sectors. Situated in the Commercial District of DMC, the tower was completed in just 20 months, with 78% of its office space leased prior to its inauguration, indicating a robust demand for premium commercial real estate in well-connected business hubs across the city.
The Maritime Business Centre features 125 exclusive office units ranging from 40 to 980 m², all boasting waterfront views. It offers two types of office spaces: fully fitted plug-and-play offices for immediate use and shell-and-core offices that allow tenants to customize their environments according to their operational and branding needs. Additionally, the tower includes a wellness floor with a gym, recreational areas, retail and dining options, and ample parking facilities, including spaces for electric vehicles and People of Determination.
Ahmed Al Hammadi, COO of Dubai Maritime City, emphasized the strong pre-leasing interest as a testament to the confidence in DMC as a strategic destination for maritime businesses. The opening event was attended by several senior officials, underscoring the project’s significance. According to a recent report, Dubai has solidified its position as a leading global maritime hub, ranking among the top five shipping centers worldwide, particularly praised for its comprehensive maritime ecosystem and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing maritime transport.
