France is strengthening its maritime cooperation with Morocco, showcasing its commitment to aiding Morocco’s development in the maritime sector. The French ambassador to Rabat, Christophe Lecourtier, emphasized this collaboration, which is part of broader cooperation between the two nations. Lecourtier highlighted Morocco’s active role in representing Africa and other southern nations, fostering multilateral and bilateral cooperation. The collaboration was highlighted at the 7th edition of the Halieutis Fair, where approximately twenty French companies participated, showcasing solutions and innovations for Morocco’s blue economy.
French companies are presenting solutions for secure communication, traceability, and environmental respect as part of the French-Moroccan partnership. Lecourtier also mentioned an upcoming UN Summit in Nice focusing on ocean and biodiversity preservation, aligning with Morocco’s international policies. The Halieutis Fair, themed “Research and innovation for a sustainable fisheries sector,” gathers key players in fishing, aquaculture, seafood processing, and fisheries research, reinforcing its role in the international fisheries arena.
In addition to the maritime cooperation, the Paris International Agricultural Show (SIA) will honor Morocco as its featured foreign country for the first time. French Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Annie Genevard noted the mutual benefits, particularly in water management. The event, under the theme “A French Pride,” will host over 600,000 visitors. This recognition further solidifies the strong ties between France and Morocco in various sectors, showcasing their commitment to mutual growth and development.
