NYK has finalized the acquisition of a 50% stake in Avenir LNG Limited, following the necessary regulatory approvals. This stake was purchased from Stolt-Nielsen Gas Ltd., a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen Limited, which previously owned 100% of Avenir LNG.
With this transaction, NYK and Stolt-Nielsen have formed a joint ownership and operational framework for Avenir LNG, a prominent player in the LNG bunkering sector. The company boasts one of the largest fleets of LNG bunker vessels globally.
The newly established joint venture aims to explore opportunities in LNG and bio-LNG bunkering. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the maritime industry’s shift toward lower-emission fuels, aligning with global sustainability goals.
