India condemned the incident, voicing concerns over ongoing assaults on commercial shipping in the region and calling for an end to attacks on vessels, seafarers, and civilian infrastructure. This incident is part of a troubling trend of maritime security issues reported around the Strait of Hormuz and near Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, where previous attacks have led to evacuations due to damage caused by projectiles.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital international shipping route that connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the broader Indian Ocean. Disruptions in this critical waterway have raised significant concerns regarding the safety of commercial shipping and the transport of energy supplies. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the recent attack.
