Wärtsilä is set to provide its Wärtsilä 25 Ammonia auxiliary engine, along with a NOₓ reducer (SCR) and gas valve unit (GVU), for two new midsize LPG/liquid ammonia carriers with a capacity of 51,350 m³. This technology aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce emissions, aligning with the vessels’ sustainability goals.

The ships are under construction at Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (SOE) shipyard in Shanghai and will be operated by Navigator Amon Shipping AS, a joint venture between Navigator Gas and Norway’s Amon Maritime.

In addition to the auxiliary engine, Wärtsilä will supply a Controllable Pitch Propulsion system designed to maximize efficiency and reliability. The orders for the engines, SCR, and GVU were secured in Q2 2026, while the Controllable Pitch Propeller system was ordered in Q3 2026.
