Nine Filipino seafarers who were stranded in Lebanon due to ongoing conflict have safely returned to the Philippines, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The group, part of the crew aboard the M/V Hawk III, arrived on Emirates Flight EK332 after being stuck in Lebanon for several months.

The DMW reported that the vessel had been detained since October 2025, which hindered the crew’s ability to return home. Escalating tensions in the region further complicated their repatriation process. Upon their arrival, the seafarers were greeted by officials from the DMW, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and their manning agency, who provided airport assistance.

In addition to immediate support, the returning seafarers will receive post-arrival assistance and reintegration services. The DMW is also in the process of confirming flight arrangements for 11 more Filipino seafarers still overseas, who are expected to return soon.

This repatriation effort was made possible through collaboration among the DMW, OWWA, the Migrant Workers Office in Lebanon, and the Philippine Embassy in Beirut, highlighting the government’s commitment to assist Filipinos affected by international crises.
