Med Marine proudly announces the successful delivery of the MED-A2570 series tug, designed to meet the evolving demands of efficient harbor operations. The esteemed client, SEAGATE, selected Med Marine for the construction of this multi-purpose tug after previous successful deliveries in Greece. The closing ceremony took place in Athens, Greece, during the Posidonia Shipping Exhibition.
Named “CAPTAIN DIMITRIS IV” by its owner, this state-of-the-art tugboat measures 25 meters in length and boasts a 70-ton bollard pull capacity, meeting Class FIFI-1 requirements. Equipped with forward and aft winches for ship handling, towing, pushing, mooring, and firefighting facilities, it also features an aft towing hook. Ms. Melis Ucuncu, Business Development Director at MED MARINE, expressed excitement over SEAGATE’s choice, highlighting MED MARINE’s commitment to quality and world-class production capacity.
The tugboat’s specifications include a length of 25.20 meters, a width of 12 meters, a depth of 4.60 meters, and a draft of 5.75 meters. With a gross tonnage of less than 400 tons, a bollard pull capacity of 70 tons, and a speed of 11 knots, the vessel can accommodate a crew of 8 people.
