On September 22, 2026, Synergy Marine Group and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) formalized their collaboration through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Kochi. The agreement was signed by Ajay Chaudhry, Co-CEO of Synergy Marine Group, and Rajesh Gopalakrishnan, Director (Technical) of CSL, with the presence of Jesper Kristensen, Group CEO of Synergy, and Jose V J, CSL’s Chairman and Managing Director.
The MoU aims to leverage CSL’s industrial capacity alongside Synergy’s expertise in shipbuilding, repair, and conversion projects in India. This collaboration is expected to enhance the delivery of newbuilding projects, drawing on Synergy’s experience from over 250 completed projects and a portfolio of more than 150 vessels currently under construction across 20 shipyards in six countries.
Additionally, the partnership will focus on converting LNG carriers into floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs), offering comprehensive project management tailored to specific needs. The agreement encompasses joint business development in various sectors, including ship repair, newbuilding, and oil and gas projects, while also providing strategic advisory support for CSL’s newbuilding activities.
