Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has announced its acquisition of a 50% stake in OffshoreCrew, a Norwegian firm specializing in offshore recruitment and crewing. This strategic move aims to enhance BSM’s services for offshore and maritime clients. Based in Kristiansand, OffshoreCrew offers recruitment, staffing, and crew management for sectors such as oil and gas, offshore wind, and subsea, supported by a database of approximately 30,000 offshore professionals.
The partnership will enable BSM to broaden its offshore crewing capabilities, complementing its existing technical and crew management services. This includes the provision of specialized personnel like dynamic positioning and crane operators across a diverse range of offshore units. By merging OffshoreCrew’s expertise with BSM’s extensive global network, the two companies plan to deliver comprehensive services that encompass individual personnel supply, crew management, and full technical management.
Sebastian von Hardenberg, CEO of BSM, emphasized that OffshoreCrew’s strong track record and specialized talent pool will enhance their ability to meet customer demands in dynamic offshore markets. Javier Zahn, CEO of OffshoreCrew, noted that the collaboration positions them to scale services and expand their international client base while maintaining a customer-centric approach. BSM currently manages a fleet of 700 vessels with a workforce of 40,000 crew members and 2,000 shore-based employees.
