The Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), an international ship classification society and member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), has announced the opening of a new office in Saudi Arabia. This expansion underscores IRS’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s flourishing maritime and oil & gas sectors.
Located in Dammam, the office will provide comprehensive services across major Saudi ports, enhancing engagement with local clients and ensuring quicker service delivery for ship owners and operators. This strategic move strengthens IRS’s presence in the region, enabling the organization to offer timely and competitive services to clients in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea.
Services available will include ship classification, statutory surveys, technical inspections, and compliance audits aligned with IMO and flag state requirements.
“The opening of our Saudi office is a key milestone in IRS’s global growth, reflecting our dedication to the Kingdom’s maritime industry and its ambitions to become a world-class logistics and shipping hub,” stated P K Mishra, Managing Director of IRS. This initiative positions IRS as a pivotal player in Saudi Arabia’s shipping landscape.
