Everllence has successfully completed full-scale testing of its 12-cylinder 175DF-M dual-fuel methanol engine at its Test and Research Center in Frederikshavn, Denmark. This testing follows the optimization of the engine’s concept on a single-cylinder test stand in 2025, confirming its functionality in both diesel and methanol modes.
The 175DF-M engine is engineered for optimal efficiency, achieving over 95% methanol use across a wide load range, thanks to its low-pressure port-fuel-injection (PFI) system. This design simplifies fuel supply arrangements, reduces system complexity, and lowers installation costs. Moreover, the engine facilitates easy retrofitting due to its high parts commonality, enabling shipowners to transition to carbon-neutral operations when desired.
Everllence has already secured its first commercial orders for the high-speed engine, with variable-speed gensets (12V and 16V) set for delivery in mid-2027 to two superyacht clients.
