Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) 2026 was inaugurated today by Acting Minister for Transport, Mr. Jeffrey Siow, marking its 20th edition. Organized by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the event runs from April 20 to 24, attracting over 20,000 participants from nearly 80 countries, including ministers, industry leaders, and maritime professionals. At the opening, Mr. Siow launched OCEANS-X, a data and API exchange platform aimed at enhancing port service efficiency and reinforcing Singapore’s status as a global maritime hub.

The Singapore Maritime Lecture was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Gan Kim Yong, followed by a discussion on global trade, digitalization, and decarbonization, moderated by Ms. Yong Hsin Yue of Kuok Group Singapore. Notable attendees included Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, who will discuss collective outcomes for global shipping amidst diverging regulations.

From April 21 to 23, EXPO@SMW will feature innovative maritime technologies and the Maritime SG Showcase, including a live simulation platform. The PIER71 Smart Port Challenge 2026 will also launch on April 22, inviting global startups to tackle maritime challenges. Public engagement activities at the Singapore Maritime Gallery will allow visitors to view Singapore’s first fully electric harbour tug, EON.
