Maritime House, constructed in 1973 as accommodations for the Port of Singapore Authority staff, has long been a vital resource for the seafaring community. It transitioned to the Singapore Mariner’s Club in 1984, providing essential lodging and recreational facilities for maritime workers. Now, the building is set for a significant redevelopment.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is spearheading the transformation of Maritime House to adapt to the changing needs of the maritime industry and to support the increasing number of vessel arrivals at the Port. The new 22-storey structure, expected to be completed by 2027, will expand its capacity from 46 to over 170 rooms.

This revamped Maritime House will function as a comprehensive maritime hub, accommodating the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), MPA Academy (MPAA), and parts of the Maritime Energy Training Facility. It aims to enhance training for seafarers during crew changes and provide event spaces for both regional and international forums.
