Carnival Cruise Line Welcomes First Female Staff Captain

On August 5, Carnival Cruise Line marked a significant milestone in its history in Sydney, celebrating the appointment of Daniela Gargiulo as the first female Staff Captain of the global fleet. The ceremony took place aboard Carnival Adventure, where Captain Francesco Bencivenga officially welcomed Gargiulo as his second-in-command during the ship’s return from the South Pacific.

Gargiulo, who joined Carnival Adventure last year, has been with Carnival Cruise Line since 2013 when she began her career as a Deck Cadet. Over 13 years, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication, professionalism, and leadership. Her passion for the maritime industry was ignited at the age of 14 when she enrolled in a nautical school in Italy.

Expressing her pride in this historic achievement, Gargiulo stated, “This promotion is an incredible honor.
