Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has revealed details about its upcoming ship, Norwegian Luna, set to embark on its maiden voyage in spring 2026. The ship will be the 21st addition to NCL’s fleet and will be a part of the Prima Plus class. With a length of 1,056 feet and a gross tonnage of 156,300, Norwegian Luna will be the fifth largest ship in NCL’s fleet, accommodating around 3,550 guests. It will sail from Miami to various Caribbean destinations such as Roatan Island, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and NCL’s private island Great Stirrup Cay.
Norwegian Luna is designed as a sister ship to Norwegian Aqua, the newest addition to NCL’s fleet set to launch in March 2025. Both ships are being constructed by the esteemed Italian shipyard Fincantieri and boast interiors designed by renowned architects. The orders for Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna were placed in 2017 as part of “Project Leonardo,” with the first two ships already delivered in 2022 and 2023 respectively. NCLH recently placed an order for eight new ships to be delivered between 2026 and 2036.
The President of Norwegian Cruise Line, David J. Herrera, expressed excitement about the debut of Norwegian Luna, highlighting the commitment to providing guests with innovative offerings and unique experiences. The ship will feature attractions like the Aqua Slidecoaster and the Glow Court, as well as luxurious amenities including the new three-bedroom Duplex Haven Suites and various dining options. The addition of Norwegian Luna represents NCL’s dedication to offering guests exceptional cruise experiences to stunning tropical destinations like the Caribbean.
