The Viking Vela, the first of a new series of cruise ships being constructed by Fincantieri for the Viking shipowner, has been successfully delivered at the Ancona shipyard in Italy. Featuring a gross tonnage of 54,300 tons and 499 cabins capable of accommodating 998 passengers, the Viking Vela falls within the small cruise ship segment. This vessel represents the 13th ship that Fincantieri has delivered to Viking, which includes two expedition units built by its subsidiary Vard.
