The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) is hosting a one-day seminar titled “Maritime Adversities” on April 11 at Hotel Taj Vivanta in Mangaluru. The seminar aims to enhance industry readiness, risk awareness, and emergency response protocols in maritime operations. It will bring together maritime professionals, policy-makers, and safety specialists to address sea-bound challenges and explore crisis management techniques.
NMPA Chairman Dr. A.V. Ramana will lead the workshop, with Capt. Brijesh Chowta inaugurating the session and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mullai Muhilan M.P. participating as the Guest of Honour. The event will feature insights from leading maritime authorities such as Capt. L.K. Panda and Capt. S.I. Abdul Kalam Azad, focusing on best practices, collaborative efforts, and emergency response frameworks crucial to the maritime ecosystem.
Under the guidance of Capt. Manoj Joshi, Deputy Conservator at NMPA, the seminar will emphasize safety consciousness, inter-agency cooperation, and resilient seafaring operations. By bringing together key stakeholders, the workshop aims to create a more prepared, responsive, and secure maritime environment.
