During his state visit to France, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron were greeted by Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and CEO of the CMA CGM Group, at the company’s headquarters in Marseille. The discussions centered around the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), a trade route aimed at improving connectivity between India and Europe. The CMA CGM Group, a global player in maritime, land, air, and logistics solutions, expressed its commitment to actively contribute to this strategic initiative.
With a longstanding presence of 34 years in India and a workforce of 17,000 employees, CMA CGM facilitates the country’s global connections through 19 weekly maritime services. The company is also investing in port infrastructure in India, including terminals at Nhava Sheva Freeport (NSFT) near Mumbai, and Mundra Port. CEVA Logistics, CMA CGM’s subsidiary, operates across 105 sites in 31 Indian cities, managing approximately 900,000 square meters of warehouse space. The recent acquisition of Stellar VCS in 2023 has further strengthened CEVA Logistics’ position in India’s contract logistics sector, offering advanced solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Committed to achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050, the CMA CGM Group is spearheading efforts to decarbonize transport and logistics in India. In a milestone moment in December 2024, the company’s LNG-powered container vessel, CMA CGM FORT DIAMANT, made history by becoming the first of its kind to call at Nava Sheva Terminal. Additionally, CMA CGM promotes innovative block train solutions that reduce CO₂ emissions by about 67% compared to road transport.
