The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), alongside the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) Mangalore, has formalized a five-year agreement to establish bunkering services for ships visiting the port and those anchored offshore. This initiative aims to streamline fuel supply for vessels at New Mangalore Port.
The agreement was officially signed at the IOCL Mangalore Terminal in Panambur by C Divya, the Divisional Institutional Business Head from the Bengaluru office of IOCL, and Capt. Manoj Joshi, Deputy Conservator of NMPA. This collaboration is expected to enhance operational efficiency for maritime activities in the region.
The signing event was attended by several dignitaries, including S Shanthi, Deputy Chairperson of NMPA, Sidharth Agarwal, Executive Director and State Head of IOCL’s Karnataka office, and Shubhendu Pal, Executive Director of Engineering and Projects at IOCL, along with other senior officials from both organizations.
This agreement represents a crucial advancement in improving bunkering services, thereby bolstering the maritime support infrastructure and facilitating more efficient vessel operations at New Mangalore Port.
