Maritime CleanTech and Ocean Hyway Cluster have joined forces with Innovation Norway to strengthen green maritime collaboration between Norway and Singapore. The partnership commenced with a four-day business visit from Singaporean companies to Norway, marking the beginning of this new initiative. Innovation Norway’s High Potential Opportunities (HPO) program aims to position Norwegian suppliers as leaders in the Southeast Asian maritime market, helping them become preferred partners in international projects.
Ada Jakobsen, CEO of Maritime CleanTech, highlighted Norway’s expertise in electric and hydrogen solutions, emphasizing the importance of bringing groundbreaking technologies to the global market. The focus on Singapore and Southeast Asia aligns with the country’s “Maritime Singapore Decarbonization Blueprint 2050,” which sets ambitious goals for reducing the maritime sector’s carbon footprint. Two key initiatives include the electrification of domestic harbor vessels and the development of cutting-edge marine fuels, presenting significant opportunities for Norwegian companies in the green maritime sector.
Under the HPO program, Norwegian companies receive comprehensive support such as market advice, strategic positioning at key events, project identification, partnership searches, financing procurement, and guidance on funding. Participants benefit from networking opportunities with local stakeholders, government agencies, and industry events, facilitated by Innovation Norway and the broader Team Norway network. This collaboration aims to drive the transition to greener shipping practices and contribute to the global effort towards sustainable maritime solutions.
