In February 2025, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) experienced a significant increase in container traffic, handling 616,164 TEUs, which was 9.14% higher than the same month in 2024. The total cargo handled during this month was 7.56 million tonnes, showing a 2.09% increase compared to February 2024. Additionally, JNPA managed 534 container rakes and 86,142 TEUs in February 2025, compared to 526 rakes and 84,350 TEUs in February 2024.
From April 2024 to February 2025, JNPA saw a notable growth in container traffic, handling a total of 6,629,242 TEUs, marking a 13.60% increase compared to the previous financial year. The total cargo handled during this period was 83.85 million tonnes, showing a 7.43% increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous financial year. The number of container rakes handled during this time was 6,164, with 978,130 TEUs, compared to 5,864 rakes and 935,503 TEUs in the previous financial year.
JNPA’s focus on operational efficiency and trade-centric services has contributed to the growth of India’s maritime trade industry.
