PSA Chennai (Chennai International Terminals Pvt Ltd) has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 13 million TEUs handled. This accomplishment highlights years of operational excellence and dedication from the team, emphasizing PSA Chennai’s role as a vital gateway on India’s east coast, enhancing trade connectivity, and supporting regional business needs.
Strategically situated at Chennai Port, PSA Chennai connects key manufacturing hubs in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry to international shipping routes across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. The terminal is equipped with an 832-meter quay and three specialized berths, along with state-of-the-art container handling technology like super-post-Panamax quay cranes and rubber-tyred gantry cranes.
The terminal is also working on expanding direct rail links to major Inland Container Depots, including Bangalore, streamlining cargo movements. Furthermore, PSA Chennai is prioritizing lower-carbon operations through the implementation of hybrid RTG systems and the integration of green rooftop solar energy.
