Cochin Shipyard Selects MacGregor for Six Dual-Fuel LNG Containerships

Macgregor Inks Hatch Cover Deal

MacGregor has been chosen to provide a full range of cargo handling solutions for six 1,700 TEU dual-fuel LNG-powered containerships being constructed at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) in India for CMA CGM. These vessels are set for delivery between 2029 and 2031, enhancing India’s position as a key player in global trade and sustainable shipbuilding.

The order, recorded in MacGregor’s Q2 2026 orders received, includes the design and essential components such as steel structures, hatch covers, cell guides, deck stanchions, and fixed container fittings.

This project marks a pivotal step in advancing sustainable shipping infrastructure in the Indian subcontinent. The LNG-powered vessels are designed to accommodate low-carbon fuels, aligning with CMA CGM’s goal of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050.
