Wallem Group, a global maritime partner, reported a rescue incident involving two Filipino fishermen in May. While en route from Abbot Point, Australia, to Cam Pha, Vietnam, a bulk carrier managed by Wallem spotted a distressed fishing boat near the Babuyan Islands, with crew members signaling for assistance.

Following the Master’s instructions, the ship halted, and its rescue boat was swiftly deployed. The all-Chinese crew executed the operation professionally, successfully retrieving the fishermen from the sinking vessel.

After the rescue, the bulk carrier proceeded to a designated rendezvous point, where the fishermen were transferred to a high-speed Philippine Coast Guard vessel.
