DP World’s Marine Services division, Shipping Solutions, celebrated the naming of its first methanol dual-fuel vessel, DP World London, in Aarhus, Denmark. This event marks a significant step in the company’s commitment to developing connected, resilient, and sustainable supply chains. Aarhus, the birthplace of the company in 1977, has historically linked local businesses to global markets, making it an apt location for the unveiling.
The ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including company executives, partners, employees, and local dignitaries, to honor maritime traditions and the company’s heritage. DP World London symbolizes not only the past but also the future as the firm invests in fleet modernization.
Martin Gaard Christiansen, CEO of Shipping Solutions EAM, emphasized the importance of customer connectivity and adaptability in volatile markets. He noted that this dual-fuel vessel aligns with the company’s ethos of practical innovation. Ganesh Raj, Global COO for Marine Services, echoed this sentiment, pointing to the vessel as a concrete example of DP World’s investments in sustainable transport solutions, enhancing resilience across its integrated service network.
The DP World London, a 1,250 TEU vessel built in China and set to operate on the North Europe service, features advanced emission-reduction technology. Its naming follows the recent addition of DP World Indus to the fleet, highlighting DP World’s continued growth across essential trade routes.
