ONEX Shipyards and Technologies Group has forged a strategic alliance with Antipollution, part of the V Group, to design and construct four advanced ecological vessels, with the option for four more. This agreement was formalized during the Posidonia 2026 international exhibition, attended by Greece’s Minister of Shipping, Vasilis Kikilias, highlighting its importance for both the national economy and the international shipping sector.

The vessels will be fully designed and fabricated in Greece, leveraging the expertise of ONEX’s Elefsina Shipyards and the historic Syros Shipyards at Neorio. Classification services will be provided by ABS to ensure that the vessels meet rigorous safety and environmental standards.

These new eco vessels will feature innovative technologies for efficient waste collection and transport to land facilities, adhering to stringent international MARPOL conventions. Furthermore, their design equips them for operations in marine pollution scenarios and emergencies.

Panos Xenokostas, Founder and President of ONEX, emphasized that this agreement showcases ONEX’s capabilities in crafting specialized vessels domestically. He positioned this initiative as a transformative step for the Greek shipbuilding industry, establishing ONEX as a proactive contributor to the evolution of green shipping.
