WANA (May 07) – The Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran has communicated to captains and owners of commercial vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz and adjacent waters that the country’s ports are fully prepared to offer a range of maritime, technical, medical, and logistical support services.
The organization indicated that vessels navigating the region, as well as those anchored in Iranian territorial waters, can access essential services such as food supplies, fuel, healthcare, and authorized repair equipment as needed. This initiative aims to enhance the safety of seafarers, ensure the seaworthiness of vessels, and promote the welfare of ship crews.
The Ports and Maritime Organization highlighted that this effort aligns with Iran’s sovereign responsibilities regarding maritime safety and port services, showcasing the nation’s commitment to facilitating safe and sustainable commercial shipping through one of the world’s most vital waterways. The official message will be disseminated three times daily over three consecutive days via regional maritime communication systems.
Vessel captains and owners seeking support are encouraged to contact the Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) centers at the nearest Iranian port using VHF Channel 16 or to coordinate with local representatives to submit their requests.
