Muscat: The Maritime Security Centre of Oman has issued a warning to seafarers regarding a potential floating mine spotted in the Strait of Hormuz. This alert comes after reports of a suspicious object identified in the waters west of the Inshore Traffic Zone, which falls within Oman’s territorial sea.

In a message shared on X, the Centre emphasized the need for heightened vigilance among all maritime users, including fishermen and vessels operating in the area. They urged these individuals to navigate with extreme caution and to maintain a safe distance from any unidentified objects encountered.
