Titomic has partnered with DNV, a leading assurance and risk management provider, to secure certifications for its advanced coating and repair technologies in the Oil & Gas and Maritime sectors. The collaboration aims to achieve qualification under the NORSOK M-501 standard, a global benchmark for surface preparation and protective coatings in offshore installations, developed by the Norwegian petroleum industry.
This certification, along with recognition from other classification societies like Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas, will validate Titomic’s Kinetic Fusion cold spray additive manufacturing technology for corrosion-resistant applications in challenging marine environments. In response to increasing global demand for asset integrity and corrosion mitigation, Titomic is eager to demonstrate the operational advantages of its Kinetic Fusion process, which promises reduced repair downtime and enhanced safety compared to traditional methods.
Klaas Rozema, President of Titomic EMEA, emphasized that this agreement is a significant milestone for the company as it expands into global energy and maritime markets. The certifications will enable Titomic Kinetic Fusion to be recognized for various applications, including Thermal Spray Aluminum repairs and surface protection of critical infrastructure.
CEO Jim Simpson highlighted that this partnership reinforces Titomic’s commitment to delivering efficient repair solutions for essential infrastructure, emphasizing the technology’s rapid deployment, minimal waste, and cost-effectiveness, particularly in remote or offshore settings.
