ClassNK has introduced the ClassNK Design Data Marketplace, a new platform designed for the sharing and utilization of ship design data. This innovative marketplace connects various maritime stakeholders, including shipyards, design firms, and software providers, allowing them to collaborate more effectively. Users can easily search, compare, and access 3D models, design data, and digital services all in one place. The initiative aims to extend the use of design data beyond just the shipbuilding phase.

Part of the broader Digital Twin Project, the marketplace promotes secure data sharing across the maritime industry. ClassNK has developed this platform as a neutral space to foster collaboration and innovation among its members. Operating as a closed membership system, it includes specific rules governing the management and use of design data, ensuring that members retain control over their proprietary information.

Members can register their models and services, which ClassNK anticipates will enhance data sharing and create new business opportunities. This initiative is expected to add value throughout the vessel lifecycle. Notably, the ClassNK Design Data Marketplace is available at no cost to registered members, further encouraging participation and engagement within the maritime community.
