BIMCO and Panama Maritime Chamber Collaborate to Elevate Maritime Education in Latin America

During the Maritime Convention of the Americas, a significant Memorandum of Understanding was established between two organizations. This agreement emphasizes mutual cooperation, particularly focusing on support for BIMCO’s events and maritime training initiatives taking place in Panama and across the broader Latin American region.

The memorandum was officially signed by René Gómez, President of the Panama Maritime Chamber, and David Loosley, Secretary General and CEO of BIMCO. This collaboration aims to enhance maritime education and foster closer ties within the industry.

David Loosley, alongside BIMCO President Paul Pathy, participated in a Plenary Session titled “Securing Global Trade and Maritime Transportation in an Age of Uncertainty.” The session was moderated by Orlando Allard from the Panama Maritime Chamber and featured notable speakers, including Arsenio Domínguez from the International Maritime Organization, Tim Wilkins of Intertanko, Dafne Anghelidis from WISTA International, and Thomas Kazakos from the International Chamber of Shipping.
